In this installment of our Agent Spotlight series at Southwest Florida REGroup we’re interviewing Scott Madden, who specializes in SWFL Real Estate. Let’s learn more about his buying/selling expertise, as well as get to know him a bit better outside of the real estate world.
What do you love about real estate, why’d you get into real estate in the first place?
The main thing I absolutely love about real estate is the reward and greatest feeling in the world of handing the keys over to the clients that take a lot of extra leg work to get the deal put through, with people that have in the past lost out on bids, struggling to get financing, handicapped and need extra help, and definitely love working with veterans as I am one myself. The reason I got into real estate is for 21 years I worked with residential and commercial builders, selling them products and getting properties sold for them through referrals. The two of them worked very well together.
Is there a particular area in Southwest Florida you concentrate on (or love to work in)?
Not necessarily, being from the spread out Midwest I drove a lot of miles to job sites. Some of my best thoughts and ideas about my profession have come from a little windshield time.
What do you do for fun?
My main passion is the love of touring motorcycles and making yearly trips with friends and family. On my last trip in June we rode 9400 miles and went through 19 different states. Golfing is also something I enjoy doing.
Favorite restaurant?
My favorite restaurant to go to would be the Dixie Fish Co. at Ft. Myers Beach
What are your keys to success?
My main key to success is networking. Talk, talk, talk to people everywhere you go. Real estate isn’t a job, it’s a lifestyle that you have to live and be a part of.
How has our system worked for you?
The system works very well and our group of agents work well together due to one simple thing, the amount of time that everyone puts in behind the scenes to have a good CRM. Also excellent transaction coordinators, and wonderful office staff. I absolutely made the right decision to join this group and look forward to success moving forward.
Any tips for new agents?
My tip to a new agent would be to stay diligent, with your head down and keep moving forward. This industry is not easy to get started in and I would advise any new agent to join a team so they’re around a group of people that have been in the industry and know what they’re doing and most importantly, having a group of positive influences around them.
