Marlene Lopez

In this installment of our Agent Spotlight series at Southwest Florida REGroup we’re interviewing Marlene Lopez, who specializes in SWFL Real Estate. Let’s learn more about her buying/selling expertise, as well as get to know her a bit better outside of the real estate world.

What do you love about real estate, why’d you get into real estate in the first place?

I LOVE people and it’s truly rewarding to help people find the home that fits them and their family; whether it’s for a certain season of their lives, or it’s their forever home. After being in the corporate world for so long, I decided it was time to take control of my own career. A place where I would be the only one to stop me from achieving my goals.

Is there a particular area in Southwest Florida you concentrate on (or love to work in)?

I cover all of Lee and Collier counties – it’s not really “work” if you enjoy it so much, right? The area my client is looking in, is the area I focus on!

What do you do for fun?

My all time favorite is spending time with my family; whether that is playing a board game at home, going out to dinner, or vacationing in the mountains or on the beach – that is my happy place!

Favorite restaurant?

Small seafood spot on Old McGregor – Cape Cod Fish Company; where the food is fresh, and the atmosphere is very relaxed and feels like home.

What are your keys to success?

FOLLOWING THE PROCESS!! I didn’t quite understand what that meant when I first joined the team, but they were right on with steps, follow ups, relationship building, and timing. Of course, none of it could’ve been possible without the total support of my family.

How has our system worked for you?

It’s not easy leaving the corporate world, and becoming self-employed. Before joining the team, my biggest challenge was the lack of process, systems, and structure. It took a few months to get going, and I’ve never been happier with a decision. The team support and guidance is next to none. I wouldn’t be where I am now if it weren’t for the resources and tools provided.

Any tips for new agents?

Don’t be intimidated and don’t give up; instead, dive into what is provided. Give it at least 6-9 months, then you will see how the process all comes together and your business starts flowing.
